Actually, the things you mention were not yet meant to work. Many
menu-entries are still entirely bogus and do not have any effect. We hope to
release a new milestone release soon, that is actually hooked into R, thereby
taking a very important step towards a real application. But even for the next
release a lot of features will continue to fail silently.
