I tested the download on RedHat 8.0, and it works fine.
I'm impressed with how small it is. So far it does not hook to R, right?

All I'm getting is the gui front end.

Tested under Mandrake 9.1, R 1.7:

Not way to open files

Not way to update libraries, just 4 appears, but lots more installed (path are well configured).

Looks good; I think a front-end for R, specially under Linux, is needed and obversive will do soon.
